The Dispute Settlement Center (DSC) of western Connecticut is a non-profit offering skilled conflict resolution services since 1990. Through facilitated dialogue and other conflict resolution techniques, we aim to reduce damaging conflict which leads to crime, violence, homelessness and the burden on the courts.
One of the most effective techiques to resolve conflict is mediation. It is a voluntary process where a trained impartial person – a mediator – helps both sides listen to each other and assists the participants in reaching their own agreement. In addition, we provide conflict coaching to assist an individual in exploring different options and strategies that can lead to more successful interactions with others.
Operating throughout western Connecticut, our mediators, facilitators and trainers draw upon a rich background of education and life experiences. We have helped people resolve thousands of disputes over the years with over 85% of those who come to the table reaching an agreement.
